We are pleased to announce Valrie Minson’s promotion to Associate Dean for Academic Support Services on January 2, 2024.
In this role, Minson will continue to direct the Libraries’ Assessment and Student Success programs and to chair the Marston Science Library. She will also assume responsibility for the LibraryPress@UF. As part of the senior leadership team, she will continue to contribute to wide-ranging and impactful decisions affecting the Libraries and to progress on strategic directions.
As an Associate Dean, Minson will report to Dean of University Libraries, Judy Russell. She will coordinate closely with Patrick Reakes, Senior Associate Dean Scholarly Resources & Services, on matters relating to the management of the Marston Science Library.
After earlier work at the University of Florida Press and Marston Science Library, Minson worked at Dickinson College from 2003 to 2005 when she returned to the Smathers Libraries as the Agricultural Outreach Librarian, based in Marston. In 2014 she was promoted to Chair of the Marston Science Library and in 2019 she was promoted to Assistant Dean for Assessment and Student Success, while retaining her role as Chair of Marston.
