UF Community Welcomes Gator Statue with Open Arms

On Thursday, August 21, the Libraries invited the University of Florida Gainesville campus to the official unveiling of “Focused Attention,” the nine-foot bronze alligator sculpture created by artist, David Price. More than one hundred students, faculty and staff trekked to the Plaza of the Americas to give the gator a proper welcome to UF campus. Previously, the gator lived on the third floor of Library West. “Focused Attention” is the sixth outdoor campus alligator statue. All attendees went home with a custom vintage postcard listing the locations of all campus alligators. The event garnered great coverage from UF News, WCJB20 and Mainstreet Daily News.
