Fall Fest
The annual Libraries student outreach event took place on Wednesday, October 22 at the Reitz Union. 513 participants visited tables featuring information on borrowing, spaces and tools and tech. This year’s theme was Centennial, and the limited edition t-shirts featuring the Smathers window went fast!

Crepuscular Creatures
In a collaboration with the Florida Natural History Museum, the museum came to Marston Science Library where students learned about animals that are crepuscular, meaning they’re primarily active around dawn or dusk. On Thursday, October 23, students were able to engage in free activities, engaged with their campus natural history museum, and learned about these interesting creatures.

Make and Take Clay Makerspace Night
Marston Makerspace continued their student outreach events with an evening of making clay monsters. The Makerspace was flooded with students creating friendly and fierce handheld creatures.

Concerts at Noon
The third Concerts at Noon took place on Thursday, October 30 in the Architecture and Fine Arts Library. A trombone quartet, two pianists and an opera singer made up the four performers took the stage and entertained a small group of music lovers in the mid-century modern library.

Magic of the Libraries
On Friday, October 31, Smathers Library held the third annual Magic of the Libraries special collections open house in the historic Grand Reading Room. Curators displayed some of their favorite objects for visitors to enjoy (and grab some candy on their way out).

HalloWest
On Friday, October 31, Library West hosted the popular annual HalloWest trick or treating event. 180 trick or treaters visited the five stations of the six-story library, learning about materials, spaces and subject specialists.
