Makerspace Receives Professional Serger + Coverstitch Combo Machine Through Generous Donation

The Makerspace is excited to announce the addition of a professional serger and coverstitch combo machine to its equipment lineup, made possible through a generous donation from a longtime library supporter and Library Leadership Board member, MaryEllen Burnett. The new Bernina L 890 brings advanced garment construction and finishing capabilities to the space, giving makers access to tools typically found in professional sewing studios.

This powerful machine allows users to create beautifully finished seams, stretch-friendly construction and polished hems all in one system. Because of its advanced features, the Makerspace has introduced a short certification process to ensure safe and confident use while helping preserve this special piece of shared equipment.

The Libraries are incredibly grateful to Ms. Burnett for helping expand creative opportunities for our community. To learn more about the Bernina L 890 and how to get certified, read the full blog post.
