Estrella Victoriosa Affair Collection, 1962-1964
Antisemitic materials relating to the “Estrella Victoriosa” affair in Latin America, stemming from the monthly magazine Nación Árabe, which alleged that a clandestine Jewish organization was conspiring to gain political control throughout the region. Includes issues of the magazine, other publications referencing the affair, photographs, and related materials. Although the allegations were shown to be fraudulent, they were widely repeated in newspapers and political circles across Latin America.

Latin American Documents Collection / Colección de Documentos Latinoamericanos, 1676-2010 (significantly expanded and newly revised finding aid)
The collection contains various documents related to Latin American countries including Mexico, South and Central America (Cuba, Haiti, and Caribbean Islands documents can be found in related collections). The collections are comprised of a variety of materials highlighting the history, culture, and study of Latin America. These materials have been acquired from various sources over a period of many years and are grouped together because each acquisition consists of a small number of items (e.g., a single letter, manuscript, or photograph album).

Collection on Jewish Organizations in Cuba / Colección de Organizaciones judías en Cuba, 1925-1970 (significantly expanded and newly revised finding aid)
This collection sheds light on various aspects of Jewish communal life in Cuba from the 1920s until the 1960s. The documents in the collection were created by Jewish organizations in Havana and include documents and correspondence from Jewish and non-Jewish organizations all over the world. The majority of these letters, written agreements, registry entries, affidavits issued to immigrants to both Cuba and the US, and tickets to different events are in Yiddish, also signaling that they are related to the lives of the last large wave of Jewish immigrants to Cuba, mostly from Eastern European Ashkenazi communities.
Esta colección vislumbra varios aspectos de la vida comunitaria judía en Cuba entre los 1920 y los 1960. Los documentos en la colección fueron creados por distintas organizaciones judías en la Habana e incluyen documentos y correspondencia de organizaciones judías y no-judías del mundo entero. La mayor parte de la correspondencia, contratos escritos, registros de datos, afidávits emitidos a inmigrantes tanto en Cuba como en los Estados Unidos, y boletos para eventos diversos escritos en yidis, son señales que indican la relación de estas organizaciones con las vidas de la última gran ola migratoria de judíos a Cuba, principalmente procedentes de las comunidades asquenazí del este de Europa.
